Leather Couches

Our 100% genuine leather couches are known for their elegance and sophistication, but it is important to consider the benefits and maintenance of a 100% genuine leather couch before you make your final decision. Leather furniture can be beautiful and extremely comfortable, but it is important to think about the practicalities and advantages before making your purchase.

Our range has modern, classic and traditional design styles to choose from and are available in different sizes and leathers. We have leather 2-seaters, 3-seaters, corner units and slouches available, as well as modular leather couches and occasional chairs that are both versatile and stylish. Choose from various colours and textures to suit your personal style, ranging from brown, white, red and grey leathers, you can choose your favourite from our wide selection. If you are going for a more contemporary look and feel, we also have navy and black leathers to choose from.

Benefits of Leather

A 100% genuine leather couch is built to last. It is a durable choice and if looked after will last you up to 10-15 years. The more it is used, the softer and more comfortable it will get and therefore it only gets better with age! Although the shape may vary, a leather couch is a timeless piece of furniture that can last you a lifetime.

A corrected grain leather finish is also very easy to clean. It has a soft and smooth surface and is resistant to dirt and stains if scotch guarded beforehand. If cared for correctly, your leather couch will be easy to maintain and is the perfect option for a well-used living area.

Leather is a natural material and it is important to keep in mind that each piece we manufacture will have its own distinctive markings and characteristics which will make your leather couch a unique piece in your home. We suggest coming through to one of our stores to feel our leather swatches and choose the perfect finish for your chosen design.

Our leathers come in different colours and textures

• Aniline

Aniline-dyed leather is extremely soft and isn’t treated with a protective coating that would alter its natural feel. Aniline leathers require higher maintenance than protected leathers.

• Nubuck

Our Nubuck leather is comfortable and soft, but harder to clean and needs to be looked after well.

• Protected

Our protected leathers are not as soft as Nubuck or Aniline, but they are low maintenance and easy to look after.

Leather care tips

As we’ve mentioned before, caring for your leather couch is key to making sure it has a long lifespan and will give you years of comfort in your home. We’ve listed a few key caring tips below:

• Sunlight

All materials will fade over time when place in direct sunlight. Some leathers are especially sensitive to sunlight and harsh electrical lighting. We suggest keeping your leather couch out of direct light, as they are especially sensitive and will fade over time.

• Heat

Prolonged exposure to heaters or air-conditioning will cause your leather to dry out.

• Dust

You can easily remove dust particles from the surface of your couch by vacuuming it or wiping it down with a soft and dry cloth. Certain types of leather will also perform better when preventative maintenance is practiced. At Coricraft we offer Leather Care and Maintenance products that can be bought in our stores.

• Household cleaning products

We do not recommend using general household cleaning products that contain chemicals and abrasive liquids as they can break down the leather’s protective surface and cause permanent damage. We suggest avoiding all products containing solvents, silicones, oils and ammonia as they will negatively affect the leather’s surface

• Leather Care Kit

Purchase a leather care kit specifically designed for your leather. For our exotic leathers, we suggest avoiding hide food and rather use our exotic leather care kit which contains a cleanser and a protector to keep your leather looking spectacular

• Protected Leathers vs. Aniline and Buffed Nubuck Leathers

Aniline and Nubuck leathers, while soft and beautiful, require more maintenance than a Protected Leather. You will more easily be able to wipe off a spill off a protected leather, but this might not be as easy with Aniline and Nubuck leather. Keep this in mind before making your purchase.

• Coriguard

Our Coriguard is designed to give you some added protection against spill disasters. However, keep in mind that the Coriguard is not bullet proof and dropping a big bowl of oily pasta on your couch will still leave a stain and your leather will have to be replaced.

Coricraft manufactures all couches locally, giving you more choice and value for money. If you are looking for a new leather couch, consider all our options mentioned above and visit your nearest store to view our beautiful and versatile range.
